Julio Cesar Candelario was born on the Ides of March in New York City. He arrived two months early, but weighed in at over 7lbs. Julio leads a full life with his family, friends and art. For a brief period while living in the Dominican Republic, Julio lived with his “Mama Justa” (his grandmother). During this time, his creative eyes were opened with visuals of “Astro Boy,” “Speed Racer” and others. This style of Japanese animation impacted Julio to see the possibilities of being an artist at a young age. Julio was 4 years old when he can remember starting his dream.
Julio uses his art in both his personal and professional life. Professionally Julio has created and continues to create art on daily basis. In his fashion graphic business, he has collaborated with an A-List clientele including Snoop Dogg, Sean John, J.Lo, OutKast and NBA. A professional achievement for him was when he created a graphic tee shirt collection that had a show case at Bloomingdales (9/2000) for the "The Beatles Anthology.” Julio continued his passion for the graphic tee industry after closing his company. He was the head graphic tee designer for Jade Jeans. He created original pieces for over 18 seasons, but his true passion is for his personal projects. He enjoys showcasing his ideas using multicultural themes and mediums, including mural making. Julio lives for taking images from his head; ideas he collects from everyday life to create beautiful pieces for himself, family, friends, clients and the world.
